Joaquin is Senior Advisor for Spain, Portugal and Emerging Markets in Stone Mountain Capital since 2013. Prior, he was Client Management Consultant Spain in Prytania Investment Advisors in London, a Member of the Advisory Board in the law firm Martinez/Echevarria/Perez/Ferrero in Spain and Senior Advisor Spain in Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich. He is an International Financial Sector Advisor for banking and finance. Joaquin has more than 35 years of senior management experience in financial institutions ranging from regional savings banks in Spain (Ibercaja), to national (Banco Atlántico, today Banco Sabadell Atlantico) and international Banks (Banco Hispano Americano, today BSCH), and multilateral development institutions like European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID). During his career he has set up new banks in domestic markets in different continents, created banking joint ventures, privatized and restructured financial institutions, and arranged M&A. Joaquin is a Knight of the Order of Monastery of Yuste (Emperor Charles the First) in the Austrian province, Vienna. He holds a PhD in Industrial Engineering from the Higher Technical School of Industrial Engineering in the University of Barcelona and an MBA from IESE Business School Barcelona.
